Luca Marini is an Italian visual communicator, graphic designer, and multimedia artist based in Italy and the Netherlands. His interdisciplinary practice explores the intersection of visual language, technology, and social activism, fluidly shifting between editorial, digital, and web-based projects.

Co-founder of Tensione, a cultural association founded in 2023 in Urbino (IT). Tensione develops and hosts a wide range of educational and artistic events — from workshops and exhibitions to experimental music performances — fostering dialogue, peer-to-peer knowledge sharing, and creative exchange. Contributions to Tensione: Event organizer, assistant curator for art exhibitions, and workshop facilitator.

Currently a member of Cagna Rauca. CagnaRauca is a design collective born from the idea of reclaiming digital and online spaces through a queer and transfeminist lens. Specializing in editorial design, the collective brings together various designers who engage with themes of resistance using an innovative and radical approach.

Liminal Spaces, Childhood Memories, and Voids – This project explores the societal relevance of the #nostalgia aesthetic phenomenon and its emotional impact on Generation Z. It investigates why TikTok sees a resurgence of content that evokes childhood memories as part of uncanny, often unsettling visual trends such as #liminalspaces, #weirdcore, and #dreamcore. Through a journey into my own liminalized childhood memories—captured on video by my father—the project unfolds on TikTok, where these once personal recordings are stripped of context and re-shared by strangers. In this transformation, they become collective memory containers, absorbing feelings of loss, longing, and disorientation. The work reflects how, in a chaotic and crisis-driven postmodern world, many in Gen Z turn to digital spaces as a way to process hidden anxieties—using aesthetics as both escape and emotional language.
