Atlas of Mental Health

Research and Project materialization created with: Noemi Pigliapochi

2022 → ISIA of Urbino

With this project we studied the origin, evolution and ending of the Psychiatric institutes in Italy. In 1908 with Giolitti’s Law regulated their functions and help spread them all over Italy until in 1978 Basaglia’s Law sentenced the end of this kind of treatments. Atlas of Mental Health focus on how patients were treated and seen, showing how the geographical marginalization from the city centers was one of the main ways used to detach them from society, and society from them.
